Client: Takeda

Works

CSS Signs recently won a contract to supply two external name/logo signs for Takeda’s plant at Grange Castle. The two signs were fitted at a height of 37m (equivalent to 12 storeys high, our highest installation to date). Because of the height and being in the flight path of Baldonnel Aerodrome, we had to submit a detailed lifting plan for approval by the Air Corps and South Dublin County Council. We worked closely with the engineering staff within Takeda and their consultants in the lead up to the installation.

The signs were quite big, almost 5 metres in width. They were fabricated using solid aluminium, raised from the backing frame and formed in the shape of the Takeda name and logo background. An extensive system of rails and bolts was designed to ensure a secure fixing to the building. We attached stainless steel offsets between the building and the frame to minimise rainwater marks on the building. Due to weight restrictions with lifting, each sign was made in three separate sections. Our installation in mid-February 2018 went smoothly and according to plan.

CSS Signs has worked with both of Takeda’s Irish plants for some years now. We have installed graphics in cleanrooms, on magnetic whiteboards, and in staff canteens and common areas. In addition, we continue to supply a wide range of health and safety signs and custom designed product tracking labels.

Construction of Takeda’s new standalone high containment facility in Grange Castle got underway in 2017. To showcase the development for the official press launch, we built a stand for a very large full colour banner.
