Client: Naas General Hospital
Naas General Hospital is part of the HSE mid-Leinster Region and serves a wide catchment area of Kildare and West Wicklow. The hospital has 250 beds and a 24-hour Emergency Department.
Works
Naas General Hospital commenced a project to streamline the processing of outpatient administration in 2017, specifically to automate OPD self-check in procedures. As part of this, they required a new suite of signs to make it easier for patients to follow the system intuitively. CSS Signs won a contract to design, produce, and install this series of signs.
Our first task was to take their initial requirements and survey all locations with the relevant hospital personnel. We then made recommendations on materials, sizes, and methods of fixing. Following this phase, we provided sign proofs. Our designs had to conform with HSE standards and had to incorporate features to harmonise with existing Naas Hospital colour coded floor plans. Once the hospital team had approved the designs, we moved ahead with production. Scheduling of the installation was partly outside working hours to minimise disruption to staff and patients, and to meet the public launch date for the project.
